First let me state that I am a homeowner, not a construction or plumbing tradesmen. I am... read more not a family member, business associate or friend of Sonar Leak Detection or their technician Jonny. I am a homeowner who was given Jonny's name after trying a national leak detection company. The other company completely failed describing incorrectly a cold water leak in the concrete slab, in a location 10 feet away from where the true location of the leak was later demonstrated. To summarize: Sonar Leak Detection, 5 stars. The other leak detection company, 0 stars.

The short story:
Jonny from Sonar Leak Detection correctly identified the hot water leak and pipe location. Jonny took it upon himself and not at my request to return at no additional cost to me, and identified the leaking pipe location. Jonny took it upon himself to persist and find the leak. I have written this review without his knowledge. I highly recommend him.

The long story:
Through this process, I have learned it is extremely simple to decide between a hot water leak and a cold water leak, by simply turning off the inflow of water to the hot water heater and seeing if the water meter at the street is still spinning. If the water inflow to the hot water heater is off and the leak continues this would mean a cold water leak. If the leak stops it represents a hot water leak. It was clear that our leak was in the hot water line.

I was told about Sonar Leak Detection after trying another company. I had not known of Sonar Leak Detection and have no financial or family relationship to them. The technician Jonny, arrived on time and I was charged a fee that was quoted.

Jonny from Sonar Leak Detection, correctly found the hot water leak under the house concrete slab. He spent considerable time to map out the path of the leaking pipe. This was difficult, as it turns out, due to the thickness of the concrete slab. The 1st day, he left with a general idea of where the leak was, but I could tell he was not pleased with himself. He is friends with a plumber (Miseal at MJ Drain Cleaner) who was hired to fix the leak. Jonny and the plumber, Miseal, continued to talk and think about the situation. Jonny of his own accord called me and volunteered to come back a 2nd time, at no additional cost. The 2nd time he was able to localized the hot water leak which was later fixed by the plumber, Miseal.

After reading reviews of leak detection companies, I chose sonar leak detection only on the excellent reviews. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting a young man by the name of Johny professional & knowledgeable made me 100% assured that he would find the leak 30 minutes in he did. I honestly was over the moon excited and happy this truly has been a nightmare for me. The service from this young man is beyond triple AAA plus and a 10 l actually called the company after he left, I needed to make sure he received the praise and accolades that was due of his expertise. I think people don't understand what a good review will do to give them peace of mind and to choose the right company !!

He used thermal imaging, moisture detection equipment, and other specialized tools to carefully inspect my home. He didn't just assume where the leak was coming from. He double-checked his findings and then, with my neighbor's permission, inspected their unit as well. He was able to identify an issue with their shower and used a dye test to confirm that the water was making its way into my unit.
Isaiah took the time to explain everything he was finding and provided documentation and pictures of his findings. His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile made a stressful situation much easier to deal with.
I highly recommend Isaiah Garcia and Sonar Leak Detection to anyone dealing with a difficult-to-find water leak. Excellent service from start to finish!

Isaiah came out twice, including coming back late in the evening, just to make sure we could get to the bottom of the issue. He was extremely patient, thorough, and clearly very knowledgeable about the process. Then Jonial came out and went underneath the foundation, inspecting everything in detail and really going above and beyond to pinpoint the exact location of the leak.

What impressed me most is the precision of their work. Many plumbers simply do not have the specialized equipment or expertise for leak detection at this level. Too often the approach is to start cutting into floors, walls, or foundations just to search for the leak. Sonar Leak Detection uses specialized tools and experience to identify the exact location first, which saves enormous time, money, and unnecessary damage to the house.

Once they located the leak, they were also able to connect me with a trusted plumbing team they work with who handled the repair at a fair price. That made the entire process much easier, especially if you don't already have a plumber you trust.

Overall, they were professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and very honest. If you suspect a leak—especially one under a slab or foundation—call Sonar Leak Detection before letting anyone start tearing into your house. It will likely save you a lot of stress and money.

Johnny... read more was on time (even called before he came) and was a true professional from the moment he walked into our house (even putting on plastic booties), until I received his proposal only minutes after he left.
I have a small water stain on a second-floor ceiling close to a second-floor bathroom & air handler-closet, as well as an exterior wall. Johnny spent a good amount of his time assessing the situation (even running a water line test) and reviewing all the options for locating the source of the leak and cost for each. He even went so far as to give suggestions for ways I might be able to locate the source (and save some money) as well as discussing insurance options, all at NO CHARGE.

We had a huge water bill and began the hunt for a leak. After our handyman found no trace inside or out, we had to call a leak detection company.... read more Finding a ridiculous charge for most companies with a huge upfront fee, we found Sonar. Spoke to Johnny and his company Sonar Leak Detection comes out at no charge to find if you have a leak and location - he came out the next day and found nothing leaking currently and that it was something that had passed or a mistake by the water company. He wrote a letter to the water company about this for us. If you have a leak and repair it I have heard the water company will credit you with the bill overage charges.
What a relief. Johnny was bright, respectful, friendly and easy to work with- don’t hesitate to call Sonar immediately when in need. It will solve your water problems efficiently and hopefully save you in many ways.
